Process Engineer for Abbott (St. Jude Medical) as part of the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division (CRMD) - Pacemaker division.

At Abbott, I spearhead the development and validation of a new manufacturing process within the Combination Product – Drug-Device product manufacturing line.

Planning  subassembly test builds, sourcing materials and tools, training the operators & managing their workflow, coordinating sterilization as well as testing of the builds were just some of the responsibilities that I shouldered during the Process Validation.

 

The intangibles I gained from the validation however, was the ability to lead, manage teams, resources and expectations as well as the ability to prioritize the important aspects of any project.

A rollercoaster journey from the get go, the execution of the validation was an experience that has strengthened my resolve in achieving lofty goals that I set for myself and the team, something that has set me up for a life as a leader and driver of change.
 

This yearlong journey culminated in a successful execution, an FDA submission and I was subsequently awarded the Abbott Gold – Excellence Award for my role leading the team to the finish line.

I have also been given the opportunity to manage a second product line and take the respective manufacturing process from concept to validation and finally to an FDA Submission. 

 

I have even delivered in achieving better departmental bottom line with cost reduction and tool optimization projects I have led and successfully implemented. Abbott has given me the  ability to work with different people, teams, & within uncertain conditions while setting a strategy, maintaining the course and driving to the end goal.
