At Duro UAS, a hardware startup in New York, I am on the working on the mechanical design of the autonomous underwater mapping vehicle being built to collect data in complex urban environments.

Currently designing the Mast of the Underwater vehicle on Solidworks 2016 CAD package

  • Streamline design to reduce drag
     

  • Design constrained by the width of the pressure sensor being used.
     

  • GPS unit, Pressure sensor and Strobe light mounted on top of the Mast
     

  • Internal housing of the antenna & respective circuit-board and the wires.


The design enables usability, functionality and ease of access and detection, by radio signals by having longer antennas mounted, as well as the human eye by positioning the strobe light at the highest point of the underwater vehicle.
